AAO LIVE SURGERY on 11/10/2012! Featuring the LenSx® Laser

Chicago area surgeon and surgery center celebrate one year of laser cataract surgery by demonstrating the latest techniques to surgeons from around the world.

David M. Lubeck, M.D., a Chicago area ophthalmologist, has just completed his initial year of using the LenSx Laser System to perform state of the art cataract surgery. The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (CMIS) in Mokena, Illinois was the first surgery center or hospital to bring the LenSx Laser System to Chicagoland. Dr. Lubeck , of Arbor Centers for EyeCare, has now performed over 300 laser assisted surgeries at CMIS and has become renowned for teaching this revolutionary technology. On November 10th he is hosting a live demonstration for the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting being held at McCormick Place. The annual event will be attended by thousands of doctors from the USA and abroad. During the live surgery program, Dr. Lubeck, along with four other surgeons from New York, Pennsylvania, and Sri Lanka will perform cataract surgery using the LenSx Laser and advanced technology lens implants. As the surgeons operate, they will explain the techniques being used. A live camera feed in the operating room will be broadcasting from CMIS to the doctors at McCormick Place. Dr. Lubeck and CMIS hosted a similar program for the annual meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) in April 2012.
