Dr. Albanis welcomed the first year University of Chicago medical school students to the University in August 2013. As a former student of the medical school, current faculty member, and member of the Alumni Senate, Dr. Albanis stressed the importance of collegiality and learning from each other to become better healers. She also welcomed family members and friends of the incoming class, recognize the critical importance of their support for their doctor in training. Dr. Albanis informed them that becoming a doctor is one of the most rewarding things one can do in life, but also one of the most challenging as the amount of knowledge one learns is incredible.
