Michael S. Korey, M.D.

Michael S. Korey, M.D. attended the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign from which he graduated with Phi Beta Kappa distinction, receiving Bachelor of Science degree. He received the M.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he was selected as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Following medical school, he completed an internship and specialty residency training in ophthalmology at the Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. Dr. Korey then pursued further sub specialty training, concentrating in the treatment of glaucoma, at the internationally renowned Barnes Eye Hospital of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Korey has authored numerous professional articles and lectured extensively on the subject of glaucoma and cataracts. He is considered an expert on the management of patients with these diagnoses. Dr. Korey is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Academy Of Ophthalmology and a founding member of the Chicago Glaucoma Society. He has been on the teaching staff of Rush University, University of Illinois/Chicago and University of Chicago. He currently serves as the Chief of the Glaucoma Service at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
